This past Saturday morning at Niños de Vida, we had over 40 volunteers from the Ignite Nica group at Nicaragua Christian Academy! There was an abundance of one on one attention for kids, and they were loving it. Thank you, Ignite Nica, for coming to serve with us!

Right before we left for the States, Discover Church brought a team of 11 down from Greenville, SC. While they were here, they helped with many projects and ministry events, both for One by One and for House of Hope. It was a great week and we are thankful for Discover and their consistent support and commitment to bringing down teams every year! Caroline Gamble arrived in Nicaragua on September 14th and will be here for the next 2 months. Caroline, a recent high school graduate, is from Community Church in Sterling, Virginia. She will be helping with various areas of ministry at One by One during her time here, along with studying Spanish. We are glad she is here!
This week, we have the pleasure of hosting Matt and Amy Cleveland, who are here from Greenville, South Carolina. Through attending Discover Church, Matt and Amy became interested in moving down to Nicaragua to get involved with One by One. They are here this week for training in how to raise support, to visit the ministry, and to do in-country interviews.

While most of the missionary staff returned to Nicaragua last week, the rest returned yesterday. Today we are all back in the office and excited to get back in the swing of things. After a 3 week break of traveling to the States to see family and friends and raising financial support, we had our first kids and youth services this past Saturday. Both went well, though we did have fewer kids than normal, due to the break. However, we are looking forward to what God has in store for the ministry in the coming weeks and months, and we will make sure to keep you updated via the blog. Make sure to check back often!

Many of you have gotten the chance to come down to Nicaragua to see first-hand what we do. However, for those of you who haven't (and especially for those of who have a difficult time picturing what it is we actually do), here's a video that hopefully helps you visualize the ministry aspect of our lives. The following is a compilation of short clips from each of the activities that are included with a Saturday morning kids' service.

The One by One staff is currently on break, and most of us are in the States visiting family and friends as well as raising ongoing support. We’ll be out of the office and out of the action, and therefore out of things to report on for a short time. We’ll resume our normal lives and our normal blogging habits within the first couple weeks of September. Until that happens, we suppose you’ll have to find a new way to spend that five minutes a week normally used keeping up with us. We hope you’ll understand. Sincerely, the One by One staff
