There are several famous Nicaraguans, one is Rubén Darío. He was born in 1867 and died in 1916 and was known as the poet who initiated the Spanish-American literary movement known as modernism. One of his most famous works is a book called Azul (1888) which was considered the inaugural book of Hispanic-American modernism, has as many tales in prose as poems that caught the critics' attention through their metric variety.
