One of the big problems facing Nicaragua today is it's need for consistent energy. In other words the power goes out often. Since moving to Nicaragua we've only experienced short power outages, but yesterday was different. The power went out around 9 am and didn't come back on until 9 pm. We had company over for dinner last night...so it ended up being a night with candles and flashlights. Fortunately our stove runs on gas...so we can cook regardless of whether we have power or not.
