Downtown Managua

Friday, February 6, 2009

Here are some sights in downtown Managua.

The cathedral was built in 1931 and it has withstood several earthquakes. However,
the earthquake of 1972 left the building condemned. Today, you can only look inside, but no one can go inside. The statue is for a famous Nicaraguan poet, Ruben Dario. Finally, the fair grounds...well, that is where rides, not riders, go to die. By the way, all of this is just short walk from each other.
