Last night Brian Loos arrived in Nicaragua. As you can see from the picture above, he brought a lot of stuff with him. He was able to bring about half of our sound system with him from the States, as well other ministry supplies. We were praying that he wouldn't have to go through the x-ray machine at the airport, however, they were sending almost everyone through that line last night. Of course when you have sound equipment, there are a lot of wires and cables, and one crate was full of mic cables and a snake. For those of you who don't know what a snake is, it's a thick 100-foot long cable attached to an electronic box that you plug your equipment into so you only have to run one cable to your soundboard. As you can imagine this was something they wanted to take a closer look at once it went through the x-ray machine.
The customs agents were asking Brian questions about what the items were and how much it was worth, trying to determine if it needed to go through an additional customs check-point, but of course Brian doesn't speak Spanish, and they didn't speak English. To make a long story short, they were able to talk to Jeremy and determine that we could pay a small tax at the airport and it didn't need to go through the additional customs check-point. Praise God!
