This past Saturday we had our first NiƱos de Vida service!
We had a little excitement on the way to the service as you can see here:

Well we got the tire changed and by some miracle still made it to the church on time! Once we got to the church, the rest of our setup and preparations went smoothly. Kids started arriving an hour before we started, and kept coming up until time to start. Here are a couple pictures from before we started:

We all feel like the service went really well, the kids seemed to enjoy it and have fun. We don't have air conditioning in the building, so the amount of sweat that we exuded was almost enough to fill an Olympic sized swimming pool. Thankfully our clothes were really absorbent that day! Katie was able to use some of her Spanish, however, some French also came out (oops). Thankfully, Jeremy was there to translate when needed. Here are a couple pictures from the service, it's hard to tell from these limited pictures, but we had about 400 people at our first service:

There were some things that did not go as smoothly as we'd hoped: we needed a little more crowd control around the stage, and we needed a lot more crowd control as the kids were exiting. We're looking forward to our second service and continued learning!
