Nicaragua has many different fruits that are not common in the United States. One is Jocote. This little fruit is currently in season and can be bought at almost any street corner vegetable stand. The cost is 5 cordobas (a little less than $0.25). They are eaten ripe (a more redish color) or unripe with salt (green).
