Most of you know, but just in case you don’t, we will soon be starting the Refuge Project, which will aim “to rescue and restore the innocent”. Since being in Nicaragua, the Lord has shown us that he wants to use us to meet needs here that we didn’t originally plan on. Human trafficking, abuse and prostitution are major issues here, especially with young children. While House of Hope provides a home for women and young girls right now, we want to start by opening up our church to boys that we know who are being abused or trafficked. They will live here, and we will help them go to school, get an education, and provide counseling for them to work through their pasts.
While you read through Ephesians 4 today and abstain from watching TV, will you lift up the Refuge Project and it’s director, Katie Loos? Ask the Lord to guide and direct us where he wants us to go, that He would bring the kids that we know of already safely, and show us where there are more young boys who need to be freed from lives of slavery and abuse. Ask the Father to draw these boys close to him, to free them physically and mentally, and to use us to share truth in their lives. Pray for all the logistics of starting a new ministry, especially that God would provide financially for the many start-up costs.
Thank you for petitioning the Lord on our behalf!
